| If I were to buy a brand new long block and use the motor mounts from my old engine, I would've rebuilt the engine and not replaced it? Or if I bought a cat-back exhaust and used the OEM hangers to mount it, I rebuilt my exhaust, not replaced it? See how your simplistic definition is ridiculous. Replacing EVERYTHING but the housings doesn't constitute a turbo rebuild. If you want proof of that, go to a turbo shop and ask them to rebuild a ball bearing turbo - they'll say it can't be rebuilt and the CHRA will need to be replaced. A turbo rebuild simply constitutes replacing seals and bearings and doing some cleaning and balancing.
I love elitists who aren't really elite in any way... they amuse me greatly. |
